With more than 300 employees across the State working in a variety of ports and shipping related operations, TasPorts is a dynamic and progressive organisation.

Our approach is highly collaborative. As a team, we work to deliver upon our vision to proudly connect people, products and solutions for the benefit of all Tasmanians.

Like all port operators, the breadth and depth of capability across our business is diverse. We certainly need people who are technically capable in their areas of functional expertise, but just as importantly, we encourage attributes that are more values-oriented.

Our Values

In addition to the role values play within the organisation’s planning framework, refreshing our workplace values was highlighted as a critical initiative to enrich our culture under the People and Culture Strategy, endorsed in May 2018. Importantly, in late 2019, a number of engagement activities were undertaken, with a primary objective to understand the values everyone at TasPorts believed we should embrace.

When that information was analysed, five consistent themes emerged and these have formed the basis of the new values that have now been endorsed.

Proud to play our part, we follow through with courage and conviction.

To show care, we actively engage and listen.

We don’t go it alone, because we’re better together.

Information empowers, so we share it generously.

We trust our people and processes, to deliver with integrity.
