Security information for applications

All employees hold a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) or Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).

  • An MSIC is a nationally consistent identification card that states the holder has undergone a background check and is cleared to work unescorted or unmonitored in a maritime security zone.
  • An ASIC is evidence that the card holder has a valid background check from AusCheck. An ACIS is required frequent, unescorted access to secure areas of an airport.

More information will be available through the recruitment process. TasPorts covers the cost of an employee's MSIC and ASIC application.
