Allan Gray

Chief Executive Officer

Captain Allan Gray was appointed Chief Executive Officer of TasPorts in March 2026. As the company’s most senior executive, Allan has overall responsibility for all major corporate and operational decisions, as well as strategic direction, policy, culture and company resources.

Allan brings extensive leadership experience across the Australian and international maritime sectors, having led major port organisations including Sentient Ports in Perth and the Halifax Port Authority in Canada. 

Earlier in his career, Allan spent more than two decades at sea across a range of commercial vessels. He has been recognised for his contribution to the maritime industry, including being awarded life membership of the Company of Master Mariners Australia for his role in raising the organisation’s profile. 

Julie Garth

Group Executive People and Culture

Julie joined TasPorts in October 2022.

A highly experienced HR Executive, Julie brings with her comprehensive experience in strategic, operational, and commercially focused roles.

Julie and her team oversee the TasPorts three-year People and Culture Roadmap delivering on three broad objectives: enriching our culture, developing our people and planning our future.

Phil Hoggett

Group Executive Commercial & Trade

Phil joined the TasPorts executive team in February 2019 to lead the commercial and trade team for the business.

Phil and his team develop and facilitate the delivery of TasPorts' commercial and trade strategy, including the planning, implementation and management of key commercial and strategic customer relationships across all key industry sectors.

Angie Somann-Crawford

General Counsel & Company Secretary and Group Executive Legal, Governance & Corporate Affairs

Angie joined TasPorts in 2016 and is TasPorts General Counsel & Company Secretary.

In her role, Angie’s responsibilities include leading TasPorts’ legal services business unit, Board secretariat and corporate governance functions ensuring compliance with all corporate governance and statutory requirements. She also leads the Office of the Harbour Master (which includes Vessel Traffic Services) and TasPorts’ Corporate Affairs functions.

Angie is a lawyer with over 20 years’ experience across private practice and in an executive capacity as head of legal, human resources and risk for an ASX listed company.

Angie is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Michel de Vos

Group Executive Major Projects, Assets and Technical Services

Michel joined TasPorts in February 2023, and is responsible for strategic asset management, engineering and project delivery as well as overseeing environmental compliance and sustainability.

Michel has a background in the maritime and ports industry and has been involved in maritime projects across Australia, Asia and India. Michel is experienced in the ports sector, holding roles at major ports throughout Australia and New Zealand including the delivery of large infrastructure projects.

He is on the board of PIANC Australia and New Zealand, the World Assocation for Waterborne Transport and Infrastructure.

Stephen Kerrison

Group Executive Operations

Stephen Kerrison joins TasPorts in May as Group Executive Operations. Previously Stephen served as Chief Projects and Assets Officer at TasRail and was responsible for development and delivery of the company's Capital Program.

Stephen also has extensive experience in major project delivery, long term strategic planning, operational and asset management and operational safety, culture and risk management.
