SV May Queen
One of Australia’s oldest sail trading vessels, managed by the May Queen Trust and the Maritime Museum of Tasmania, maintained as a working example of Tasmania’s maritime trade era.
Westward
The only Tasmanian-built yacht to win the Sydney Hobart Yacht Race twice, cared for by the Maritime Museum of Tasmania.
Matilda
A restored ex-navy vessel managed by the City of Hobart, often used for ceremonial and educational purposes.

TasPorts is dedicated to helping build Tasmania’s future workforce, as well as supporting students in port communities around the state. We work closely with schools, training providers, and tertiary institutions to support pathways into port-related careers such as logistics, trades, engineering, environmental science, and marine operations.
One of our key education initiatives is the TasPorts Charles Black Memorial Scholarship, offered through the Australian Maritime College and the University of Tasmania. This scholarship supports high-achieving students with a demonstrated interest in maritime or port-related industries, helping to develop the next generation of Tasmanian maritime professionals.
TasPorts is proud to support the East Devonport Primary School lunch program. Together with the program’s other supporters, this ensures every student receives lunch each school day. This long-term partnership reflects TasPorts’ values in action — supporting the wellbeing of regional communities through steady, practical investment.
TasPorts is committed to nurturing the next generation of Tasmanian leaders. Our two-year NextGen Leaders Program offers graduates a unique opportunity to gain invaluable experience, develop essential skills, and contribute to the growth of our organisation. Successful candidates will gain a deep understanding of the maritime industry, including regulatory frameworks and economic impacts.
The Community Grant Program allows us to give back by supporting organisations, community groups and events that benefit communities surrounding our port operations and across Tasmania.
TasPorts Street Performance Program at the Port of Hobart aims to create more vibrant and appealing public spaces along Franklin Wharf by providing local musicians and artists with a free and safe place to perform.
Civic banners can be displayed in key locations around the Hobart Waterfront, effectively promoting your local event or recognising a special cause in a highly visible setting.
