Earlier today, TasPorts proudly welcomed an international delegation of Flemish investors and business representatives to the Port of Bell Bay.

As part of the international delegation’s mission to Australia, Flanders Investment and Trade, alongside Wallonia Export-Investment Agency and hub.brussels organised a number of business-to-business meetings across the country, to support activities taking place as part of the Belgian Economic Mission. The visit to Bell Bay was a key activity under the Memorandum of Understanding for Collaboration on Hydrogen between the Government of Flanders and the Tasmania Government, which was signed in February 2022.

The key focus for the delegation’s visit to Bell Bay was understanding and identifying opportunities across infrastructure, renewable energy, transport and logistics sectors.

The delegation was welcomed to Bell Bay by newly appointed Minister for Energy and Renewables Nick Duigan, supported by Renewables Climate and Future Industries Tasmania (ReCFIT), Bell Bay Advanced Manufacturing Zone (BBAMZ), Blue Economy CRC and TasPorts.

The Port of Bell Bay and its surrounding land offers unique opportunities for industrial development and is ready for growth. TasPorts remains committed to progressing development opportunities within emerging industries, in particular renewable energy and transitional industries, alongside the port’s established operations.

The Economic Mission’s visit to Bell Bay is a further demonstration of the scope and significance of opportunity for TasPorts’ port and surrounding land and also reflects the strength of Tasmania’s reputation in pursuing trade opportunities on a global level.
