The initiative is running between 15-19 October and airports across the country will be participating with national FOD walks and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to work day.
The campaign encourages all airport staff to engage in safety conversations and innovative thinking around airport safety.
TasPorts Acting Chief Executive Officer, Anthony Donald, said the annual safety campaign is a great opportunity to promote the airport’s safety culture.
“TasPorts is working to embed a culture of prevention and care and safety initiatives like this are a great step forward in doing this,” he said.
Runway FODs are conducted daily at Devonport Airport before each Qantas Link flight to ensure there are no foreign objects on the runway that may cause damage to an arriving or departing aircraft.
“This FOD walk provides an insight into the importance of this task and our commitment to ensuring a safe environment for all airport users,” Mr Donald said
