TasPorts CEO Anthony Donald said Mr Daveney was a committed business professional with more than 20 years’ experience in financial and management roles in major organisations.

“He has experience across a broad range of areas including strategy, business improvement, cost optimisation and audit,” he said.

“Rob will be filling a key role as a member of the executive. We are looking forward to officially welcoming him to the team just as much as he is looking forward to leading TasPorts’ Corporate Services division.”

Joining TasPorts from Origin Energy where he was divisional CFO of the Asia Pacific LPG business, Mr Daveney said he was attracted to the role for a number of reasons.

“Having grown up and lived in Tasmania for most of my life, I was keen to work in a large Tasmanian enterprise like TasPorts as it plays a crucial role for the state,” he said.

“During the interview process when I was getting to know members of the leadership team, I was impressed with their passion for further developing the business.

“I was also impressed with the company’s values and the way they are being applied to ensure TasPorts is a strong and resilient organisation well placed to support Tasmania’s bright future.”

Mr Daveney officially joins TasPorts on 20 June 2022.
