TasPorts has congratulated this years’ winner of the TasPorts Emerging Exporter Award – Bitwise Agronomy, as announced last Friday evening at the Tasmanian Export Awards.

TasPorts CEO Anthony Donald said the company was a long-standing and very proud supporter of the Department of State Growth’s Tasmanian Export Awards, with TasPorts once again on board as the Awards Partner, in addition to supporting the Emerging Exporter category.

“I would also like to congratulate the other finalists in the TasPorts-sponsored category, and all nominees and winners across all categories. It was a pleasure to chat with our award nominees and to hear your stories during the pre-dinner function” he said.

Mr Donald said Tasmania was almost wholly reliant on shipping and port infrastructure to sustain its communities and the economy.

“Tasmania’s export sector continues to be innovative and exciting, and we are proud to facilitate our exporters through our multi-port system,” he said.

“To continue to support exporters and industries, TasPorts is investing in our State’s port infrastructure, through our Port Master Plan.

“Through the provision of greater capacity and capability at Tasmania’s primary ports of Devonport, Hobart, Bell Bay and Burnie, our Plan will ensure a network of fit-for-purpose infrastructure to facilitate future growth and demand.”

The winner of the Tasmanian Exporter of the Year category, who will go on to represent Tasmania at the national awards, is Hellyers Road Distillery.
