TasPorts has congratulated this year’s winner of the TasPorts Emerging Exporter Award – Geoneon Pty Ltd, as announced last Friday evening at the Tasmanian Export Awards.
The Tasmanian Export Awards celebrate excellence, innovation, and dedication within Tasmania's export sector, and TasPorts remains committed to fostering growth and prosperity for the region's exporters.
Geoneon is a cutting-edge artificial intelligence-driven company, working in the intersection of disaster risk reduction and technology. Operating from the heart of Tasmania, they are changing the landscape of disaster risk assessment on a global scale.
As an advocate for Tasmania's export industry, TasPorts is a proud supporter of the Department of State Growth's Tasmanian Export Awards. TasPorts once again serves as the Awards Principal Partner, while bolstering its support by championing the Emerging Exporter category.
“I would like to extend my congratulations to Geoneon on their well-deserved win and to the nominees and winners across all categories. It was truly a pleasure to engage with our award nominees and hear your inspiring stories,” TasPorts CEO Anthony Donald said.
Mr Donald said Tasmania was almost wholly reliant on shipping and port infrastructure for sustaining its communities and driving economic prosperity.
“Tasmania’s export sector continues to be innovative and exciting, and we are proud to facilitate our exporters through our multi-port system,” he said.
"To ensure continued support for our exporters and industries," he added, "TasPorts is investing in the state's port infrastructure. This investment aims to enhance capacity and capability at Tasmania's primary ports, including Devonport, Hobart, Bell Bay, and Burnie. Our goal is to establish a network of purpose-built infrastructure, ready to accommodate future growth and meet future demands."
The Tasmanian Exporter of the Year winner, who will go on to represent Tasmania at the national awards, is Lamb of Tasmania (Tasmanian Quality Meats).
