TasPorts advises that Berth 5 at the Port of Burnie is temporarily offline due to damage to a fender caused by the RSV Nuyina on Saturday.

Safety remains our top priority, and our teams are working to remove the damaged fender and ensure the berth is safe for use.

Adverse weather conditions on Monday have delayed progress; however, works are expected to be completed by late Tuesday.

TasPorts Chief Executive, Anthony Donald, reassured port users that the impact has been minimal.

"We are working closely with our customers to minimise disruption, with only one vessel’s arrival delayed due to the damaged fender. I want to thank everyone for their patience and understanding.

“Our teams are focused on completing the work as quickly and safely as possible, and we’re confident the berth will be operational again shortly.

“We appreciate the cooperation of all affected parties and will provide updates as required,” Mr Donald said.
