Formalised partnership with the Maritime Museum of Tasmania

The Maritime Museum of Tasmania is one of Australia’s longest established community-based volunteer organisations promoting, caring and advocating for Tasmania’s maritime heritage.

TasPorts is proud to announce a formal 3-year partnership with the Museum, which includes financial support for the museum, assistance in publishing their quarterly magazine (The Maritime Times), as well as berthing facilities for historic vessel Westward at Constitution Dock.

The Museum operates the largest specialist maritime history library and archive in Tasmania.

This resource underpins the Museum’s long-standing reference and inquiry service, providing information on a pro-bono basis to anyone seeking information about Tasmania’s maritime heritage.

The new partnership will continue to see TasPorts contribute to The Maritime Times and receive specialist support from the Museum on research and historic initiatives that support the Museum’s vision to promote and preserve our rich maritime heritage.
