There is no disruption to fuel supply on King Island, with regular weekly shipping movements maintaining normal stock levels.

TasPorts is reassuring King Island residents and businesses that fuel supply to the island remains stable and well-stocked.

TasPorts manages wholesale fuel storage and supply infrastructure on King Island and operates regular weekly voyages via the John Duigan vessel.

TasPorts’ on-island stores have several months of both unleaded and diesel fuel available. TasPorts also maintains an Incident Management Plan to manage supply continuity if conditions change.

TasPorts Interim Chief Executive Officer, Allan Gray said these levels provide confidence that supply will continue to meet the needs of the community, industry, and essential services.

“We understand how critical fuel is to the island, and we plan for this accordingly,” Mr Gray said.

“Our focus is on maintaining consistent, reliable supply, and we have the systems in place to support continuity.”

TasPorts' King Island Operations team is working closely with local retail partners and the King Island Council to support the community.

Retailers without a TasPorts account can access fuel stocks through a prepayment arrangement.

TasPorts is working closely with the Tasmanian Government and providing regular updates on fuel supply across the port network.

TasPorts will continue to monitor the situation and keep the community informed.
