TasPorts is proud to support the Cruise Product Development session at the 2025 Tasmanian Tourism Showcase, helping to grow cruise-linked economic opportunities right across the state.

Held 25 - 26 July at Princes Wharf 1 in Hobart, the Showcase connects over 100 Tasmanian tourism operators with cruise shore excursion planners and consumers. The dedicated Friday cruise session, facilitated by Destination Southern Tasmania, focuses on building better, regionally diverse cruise experiences that attract visitors and drive economic returns.

TasPorts’ Chief Executive Officer, Anthony Donald, said TasPorts’ involvement supports a commitment to stronger industry partnerships, sustainable tourism and benefits that spread beyond the ports.

“This initiative reflects our commitment to growing Tasmania’s cruise readiness while championing low-impact, high-value tourism in our regions,” Mr Donald said.

“By connecting local operators with cruise shore excursion planners, we’re creating new economic opportunities for regional businesses and the port communities we serve.

“The cruise sector offers a powerful economic boost for Tasmania, especially for regional communities that benefit from increased visitation and spending.”

The initiative aligns with TasPorts’ strategy to enable growth in tourism, while protecting Tasmania’s unique coastal environment. It also reinforces Tasmania’s potential to be a leader in low-impact, experience-rich cruising, where more communities can share in the benefits.
