TasPorts welcomes withdrawal of industrial action

The Maritime Union of Australia and the Australian Maritime Officers Union have withdrawn their notices of protected industrial action at TasPorts' ports. 

Normal port operations continue, and TasPorts does not expect any impact to vessel movements as a result of the previously notified action. 

TasPorts CEO Captain Allan Gray said the organisation welcomed the decision and remained focused on reaching agreement. 

"This is a positive step, and we thank our customers for their patience and cooperation over recent days," Captain Gray said. 

"We look forward to continuing constructive discussions with both unions. Our focus remains on reaching an agreement that fairly recognises our employees while supporting our customers and serving the long-term interests of Tasmania." 

TasPorts will continue to work closely with its customers and will provide updates should operational arrangements change.
