With the salvaged York Cove and Campbell Cove wrecks on board the AAL Melbourne, the vessel has departed the Port of Devonport. Both tugs have been welded to their specially constructed cradles for the voyage to Brisbane.

Both the York Cove and Campbell Cove tugs have been successfully salvaged from the riverbed of the Mersey River. Final preparations are now underway for both vessels to be shipped to Brisbane for wrecking.
In a major tug salvage milestone, the Campbell Cove wreck has been lifted from the riverbed of the Mersey River and is being prepared to make securing the wreck to the AAL Melbourne tween deck safer.

The Campbell Cove tug was successfully lifted from the floor of the Mersey River. Unfortunately, the vessel was sitting in an unbalanced position when it was lifted requiring the Campbell Cove to be returned to the water for a new lift attempt at first light.
